You might have heard from me before -- but in the midst of these 100-days-until-Iowa emails, I think it’s worth another introduction. I’m Brendan, and I’m Pete’s state director here in Iowa. I started back in May, and wow, have things come a long way since then.
We’ve worked really hard to build an organizing movement unlike anything else out there, and we were able to do it thanks to this team. Supporters like you stepped up when Pete or Chasten or Jess or our staff in South Bend asked. As a result, we hired over 100 organizers and opened more than 20 offices here in Iowa. I wish everyone got the chance to see what we’ve built in person, because it’s truly a magnificent thing. Our organizers and volunteers are putting their hearts and souls, their hopes and their courage, into this campaign. That, in and of itself, is a big part of what it takes to win.
The other part -- the $250,000 goal part -- is providing those organizers and the whole Pete campaign the resources it takes to win. It’s about helping us organize, mobilize, and turn out voters. It’s keeping our ads on the Iowa airwaves and enabling Pete to get his message out at rallies and town halls.
