We just concluded our first week of the Freedom to Vote Virtual Relay, an online competition running alongside the in-person Relay from West Virginia to DC! Our March On team members have been taking crucial online actions to pass the Freedom to Vote Act and defend democracy.

We still have a week to go and our team needs some help--will you join March On’s team in the virtual relay?

By joining our Slack team, you can keep track of virtual actions completed and support your teammates as we take action for our democracy in this nationwide competition.

How it works: Every time you take an action, please post a screenshot to our Slack group. We will use it to update the scoreboard. Every action is weighted differently!

The national scoreboard is updated weekly on Thursdays. Although this is fun and games, it is also extremely important. Let’s defend our democracy together!

Actions you can take:

1. Call your Senator and President Biden to urge them to protect our freedom to vote. (1 point)
2. Submit a letter to the editor of your local paper about the need to protect our freedom to vote. (1 point)
3. Sign up for a volunteer phonebank to call voters in key states to urge them to call their Senators in support of the Freedom to Vote Act. (3 points)
4. Sign up or recruit someone else to sign up for a physical leg of the relay. (5 points)

If you’re interested in joining our march from West Virginia to DC, click here to read more about the Relay. Starting on October 21st, we’ll be walking, driving, and biking to DC in order to show our people power on Saturday, October 23rd.

To make our rally accessible to as many people as possible, we’re organizing carpools and buses around the country--from Georgia to New York and more!

Check to see if there is a bus or carpool leaving from your city, and RSVP to join your local group’s carpool!

Don’t see any carpools or bus stops near you? Sign up now to be a caravan or bus leader and help your community come to the relay or rally in DC next week.

If people from your area come out and show your support, we’ll have the numbers to make the Senate pay attention and finally protect our democracy from anti-voter laws across the country.
