Arena Community,
Did you know that every month we host a series of free career workshops?
Navigating your job hunt takes preparation, self-reflection, grit, and a little bit of luck. We’ve worked with seasoned political practitioners to craft a series of trainings and panels to help you stand out in the interview process and land your dream job. These events are free and open to anyone.
This month Arena will be hosting two one-time only virtual panels to help you build up your knowledge and skills.

Writing Your Political Resume
Arena’s Careers team will lead you through the key steps of how to format, tell your story, write, and deliver your resume to make you stand out in a competitive field. This interactive session will meet you where you are with your resume, whether that’s working on the basics, updating your resume post-election, or looking to translate your resume from another field. The next workshop is Tuesday, October 19 at 6 p.m. ET. RSVP to let us know you’re coming.
Getting to an interview after submitting a resume is a big step. There’s a lot of general information out there to help you prepare for interviews. But this training is specifically designed to help you prepare to interview with progressive campaigns or organizations. The next workshop is Wednesday, October 20 at 6 p.m. ET. RSVP to let us know you’re coming.

Translating Your Job Experience
Whether you’re trying to land your first role in politics from another industry or whether you want to make the case for moving into another role or department on campaigns, it’s important to translate your experience and show that you understand the connections between your previous work and where you want to go. In this 90-minute virtual training, we’ll dive into how to translate your experience from this cycle into your next campaign or other progressive industry role, or how to take your superpowers from another industry to get your dream job in politics. The next workshop is Thursday, October 21 at 6 p.m. ET. RSVP to let us know you’re coming.
Every interview starts with some version of "tell me about yourself," and you need a strong answer that clearly and succinctly tells your story -- what your background is, what value you bring, and what you're passionate about -- all in a way that connects to what the employer is looking for. During this 90-minute interactive workshop you will build, workshop, and finalize your own successful elevator pitch. Attendees will be expected to actively participate and stay for breakouts. This is not a Zoom you can multitask during; it is an interactive workshop designed for you to leave with an updated elevator pitch. The next workshop is Tuesday, October 26. RSVP to let us know you're coming.

Networking and Working Your Resume
With your resume in top shape, it’s time to learn how to make your resume work for you. This 90-minute interactive virtual training will dive into how to leverage and build your network, how to make sure you’re thoughtfully communicating your experience and desired next steps, and how to take advantage of your Arena connections to move your job search forward. The next workshop is Thursday, October. 28 at 6 p.m. ET. RSVP to let us know you’re coming.
I hope to see you at one of these upcoming panels and trainings to help you move your political career forward.
