"Over the Horizon" Operations: The Future of Drone Strikes
Monday, October 18
5:00-6:00pm Eastern

REGISTER HERE ([link removed])

The Pentagon says it is reviewing drone policies and procedures after a U.S. drone strike killed 10 Afghan civilians—including seven children—in Kabul in August. But Washington appears determined to continue “over-the-horizon” airstrikes in Afghanistan and beyond.

Tthe U.S. military has conducted at least 91,340 airstrikes over the last two decades, as open-ended authorizations for the use of military force provided a blank check, and drones became America’s preferred weapon against alleged terrorists in Pakistan, Afghanistan, East Africa, and the greater Middle East.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, ACLU’s Hina Shamsi, and CIVIC's Annie Shiel will join QI's Adam Weinstein to discuss the human and strategic costs of Washington’s reliance on drone strikes.
