After Maine’s new congressional maps were released, we learned that thousands of new voters were shifting into our district. Soon after, not one but two election experts labeled our race a “Toss-Up.”

I’m going to explain what this means for our campaign below and why it’s so important my team raises the $4,000 we need to get our fundraising back on track by tonight, but if you’re ready to help out, I would appreciate anything you can give to my campaign today.

The truth is, these new maps increase the stakes of our race. They loop in thousands of new voters into our district, meaning we have to expand our voter outreach operation and strategize how to best reach them before our opponents do. And even with new district lines, we’re expecting this to be one of the closest races on the map next year.

After discussing this with my team, it’s clear that we need to get out there and grow our campaign earlier than ever before. But the only way we can do that is with a unified grassroots base standing together. That means reaching each and every fundraising goal -- but as it stands, we’re still falling behind where we should be at this point in October.
