Friend, Tina Smith here. I serve in the U.S. Senate with Martin, and it’s his 50th birthday tomorrow! I’m reaching out to ask if you’ll chip in to help his team meet their goal of bringing in donations from all 50 states before his birthday ends.

Martin and I share a strong New Mexico connection. I was born in New Mexico and grew up in Santa Fe, and my Dad Harlan, who is 91, and my brother and his family live in Santa Fe today. I visit whenever I can, and still love to hike in the foothills above the house where we used to live on Cerro Gordo Road.

Now, I’m a longtime and proud Minnesotan, and proud to represent Minnesota in the U.S. Senate. But I know firsthand that both our states have amazing parks and wilderness areas (like Minnesota’s Boundary Waters and the Gila Wilderness.). This is why Martin and I share a commitment to protecting public lands and wild places in our state and in every state. Martin and I are both determined to use our seats in the U.S. Senate to deal with the climate crisis and put the United States on a path to a clean energy future, so our children and grandchildren can also enjoy magical places like the Boundary Waters.

So, I’m asking: Will you chip in any amount ahead of Martin’s 50th birthday to prove that support for our work for a clean planet stretches across all 50 states, including your state? Your donation will be put straight to work to help take on the climate crisis.

Thanks in advance for anything you can pitch in. It will mean so much to Martin.

— Tina
