This is a year of redistricting—every ten years, every state re-draws its congressional districts to reflect changes in population. This important process happens only once a decade, and it’s happening right now, John.
As we write this, four states have already officially redrawn their maps: Oregon, Maine, Nebraska, and Indiana. Most states are well underway. Here in Katie Porter’s district, we’re expecting initial maps in just a few weeks — by November 15th.
