Ron DeSantis (R): 44% Democrat (D): 45% ** St. Pete Poll as of 8.21 ** Here's something that might surprise you, John. There are a number of strong Democrats running to unseat Governor Ron DeSantis in Florida, and recent polling shows that next year might be our best chance to finally replace him and flip Florida blue. FiveThirtyEight's polling averages have Agriculture Commissioner and Democrat Nikki Fried down by only a few points to DeSantis. Congressman Charlie Crist is up by one in a head-to-head with DeSantis. It's pretty clear why Democrats are gaining ground. DeSantis' extreme mismanagement of COVID-19 -- which hit much worse in Florida than most other states -- has fired up Floridians to get rid of him. DeSantis is vulnerable, and the more that people chip in from across the country, the more we can get the word out about the viable Democrats running against him.
