We have a brand new episode of Only in America with a super guest ready for you to download.
Vishavjit Singh is a cartoonist, writer, performance artist and creator of Sikhtoons.com Vishvajit spent most of his childhood in India and is now based in NYC. He created and produced ‘American Sikh’, an animated short about "seeking acceptance in an intolerant world". In our interview with Vishvajit, he talks to us about his origin story of cartooning and how that led him to his alter-ego "Sikh Captain America." And the most super news of all? There’s still time to support the Kickstarter for his project here.
Looking for more Only in America to download? Before our break, we had an in-depth look at What Do Borders Mean in a Globalized World? Ali spoke with VICE news correspondent David Noriega and Danilo Zak Policy & Advocacy Associate at the Forum. The episode looks at the political and physical aspects of boundaries and borders. Plus, what it means for a growing increasingly mobile world population.
And – an exclusive sneak peek at what’s coming up the rest of the year on Only in America: conversations with those who have been working around the clock to help Afghan evacuees in the U.S., an inside look at dairy farmers’ experiences with the immigration system, and a school for refugees – and their all-star soccer program. Thanks again for listening!
