Meeting with Tangipahoa Parish Officials on Hurricane Ida Cleanup Efforts
I met with Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller, Hammond Mayor Pete Panepinto, and other parish leaders to discuss Hurricane Ida recovery and cleanup efforts. Tangipahoa Parish residents are resilient, and I will continue working with parish leaders to ensure that we fully recover from the impacts of Hurricane Ida.
Discussing Recovery at Lady of the Sea Hospital
Earlier this week, I visited Lady of the Sea Hospital in Lafourche Parish to meet with staff and discuss their ongoing efforts to recover and rebuild from the significant damage caused by Hurricane Ida.
The main hospital is still closed and had to be gutted in the aftermath of the storm. This hospital serves a critical point of medical care for thousands of people in Lafourche Parish, and I'm working with hospital leaders and local officials to help get the facility back to full operational capacity quickly to continue serving the needs of Bayou residents.
Visiting with Village East School Students in Houma
I stopped by Village East School in Houma to share with students one of my favorite story books, "House Mouse, Senate Mouse," in celebration of National Book Month. I enjoyed reading to the students and hearing about what they’re learning in class. Thank you to Village East School for inviting me!
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information, please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
