The Healthy Future Students and Earth Pilot Program Act (HR 4108) creates a voluntary grant program for schools to provide healthier, climate friendly, and culturally appropriate plant-based meals to students. Passing this bill will improve children’s access to nourishing foods that align with their health, values, and future.
This bill would help both students and their communities. It provides funding for school food service workers to receive training and for schools to engage with students in recipe development and plant-based culinary education. It also includes needed support for socially disadvantaged, beginning, veteran, and local farmers and plant-based food entrepreneurs.
