Unfortunately, child labor and deforestation continue to be ingredients in big name chocolate bars. We made this cheat sheet so you can easily spot chocolate brands making chocolate better and reforming the industry. Many of these companies are also Certified Green Business Members of Green America, and all of these chocolates are available for purchase online! Child labor is on the rise with an estimated 160 million children experiencing child labor globally, AND 1.5 million of those children work in the cocoa industry. This Halloween, use your purchasing power to support green businesses changing the way chocolate is made and prioritizing people and the planet.
