![]() Dear John,
On Monday, Senate Democrats are expected to take the procedural steps necessary for a vote (likely on Wednesday) on their latest attempt to rewrite our nation’s election laws: S. 2747, otherwise known as the “Freedom to Vote Act.” Like all the previously failed federal elections takeover legislation. Rewriting election laws to benefit one party over the other is not just unfair and anti-democratic, it would be a disaster for our constitutional republic.
Contact your senators to encourage them to vote against this bill.
Pitched as a “compromise” to the For the People Act (AKA the Corrupt Politicians Act) (H.R. 1/S.1), S. 2747 is anything but a compromise bill. This bill still constitutes a sweeping federal takeover of state election laws, stifles free speech, and imposes gender identity ideology on poll workers.
As if that isn’t enough, now this bill would also mandate gender identity ideology in the training for poll workers and mandate they operate in accordance with gender identity ideology. Under the guise of “provide[ing] access and delivery of services in a culturally competent manner […] regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity,” it would require local poll station staff to take into consideration artificial categories like sexual orientation and gender identity, instead of training and effectiveness. Even the mechanisms for locally-run elections would be twisted to serve a liberal social agenda.
The bill could see a vote next week! Please take a moment to tell your senators what you think about S. 2747.
