Governor Murphy Opposes Meadowlands Fracked Gas Plant
NJ March for Our Lungs
New Jersey Governor Murphy announced his opposition to the Meadowlands power plant. If built, this fracked gas power plant would be one of the largest contributors to climate change in the state. While the governor declared that this decision came as an "epiphany," the real credit goes to the grassroots activists who have pushed him to stand up for clean air and a livable climate.  Learn more >>

Bad Lead-in-Water Rule
People across the country continue to face disastrous health crises from lead in drinking water. Instead of taking a strong stance against lead, EPA Administrator Wheeler released a long-awaited update to the federal water quality regulation for lead in drinking water that is actually a step backward.  Learn more >>

Fracking Wastewater: A Toxic and Radioactive Problem

Fracking is a dangerous drilling practice that produces a chemical-laced wastewater concoction. After drilling down to a rock formation that holds oil or natural gas, millions of gallons of water mixed with chemicals is injected under extreme pressure to fracture the rock. The water mixture pumped underground eventually flows back up out of the well as wastewater. But then what happens to all the wastewater? We’re shining a light on what happens next. Learn more >>

Ventura County Supervisors End Drilling Expansion Near Oxnard
After a two-year campaign led by Food & Water Action and our partners at CFROG (Climate First Replacing Oil & Gas), for the first time in more than a century of oil development, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors voted four to one against a proposal to expand a drill site near Oxnard. This is a huge win!   Learn more >>

Thanks to you, we’re taking on the fossil fuel industry, corporate polluters, and factory farms. And, we’re holding our elected officials accountable.

Together, we are making real change, without compromise. Thank you for being with us in these critical fights.
