Senator Steve Daines has endorsed Ryan Zinke for Congress. This is just another example of the GOP fully leaning into the revolving door of finding your way into Donald Trump’s orbit, being forced to resign, and then deciding you ought to be in Congress.
Zinke became Secretary of the Interior, had to resign because of a Department of Justice corruption probe, and has now gone full Trumpist with the rest of the Republican party in his quest to win one of Montana’s two congressional seats next year.
But an endorsement from Steve Daines means an endorsement from a man who worked hard to tank the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, voted no on the American Rescue Plan, opposed the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and claimed the 2020 election was being stolen.
