I’m reaching out to you, friends, with a humble ask: Can you donate to help me defend myself against these GOP attack ads? My finance team has set a one-day goal of $15,000 so we can fight back, but unfortunately, we’ve come up short. Please chip in right away if you can.

The midterm elections are always an uphill battle for the party in power, so I know my race next year will be the hardest one I’ve ever faced. But this team has never let me down, so I’m personally reaching out to you, team. If every person reading this email chips in even $10, we’ll be well on our way.

I also know that the Florida GOP will use every trick in the book to defeat me -- and if we don’t respond to their attack ads, they’ll succeed.
