Dear friend,

For the last four weeks, we’ve celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month -- a time to honor the vast accomplishments of Latino communities in New York City and across the country and also to rededicate ourselves to the fight for equity for Hispanic Americans.

I’m proud to be the first Latina to serve as the Chairwoman of a House Committee and to uplift Latino-, minority-, and women-owned small businesses through that position.

In addition, I’ve dedicated my career to fighting for working families, including Latino families. I’ve championed a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients, fought for the child tax credit, and worked to address the systemic challenges Latino students face.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to advocate for Latino families from New York to Puerto Rico and everywhere in between -- and I’ll continue to do so going forward.

So as we close the books on Hispanic Heritage Month, I hope you’ll join me in celebrating the Hispanic Americans who’ve come before us and in fighting for those who’ll come after.

In solidarity,
Nydia
