Just Announced: Senator Schumer intends to bring the Freedom to Vote Act
to the Senate floor on Monday – but obstructionists are threatening to
stop the Senate from even debating the bill.

These same obstructionists have filibustered every single democracy reform
bill this year, so we need to build undeniable pressure to demand the
Senate debate this bill.

To my senators:

The Freedom to Vote Act is critical to protecting our democracy. Next week, the
landmark legislation which would make Election Day a holiday, end
gerrymandering, stop dark money in elections, and much more, will be brought to
the Senate floor.

Protecting our democracy is not a partisan issue. Whether you’re a Republican,
Democrat, or Independent, we must come together on this key point: Voters should
control our democracy, not establishment political parties or big money
special interests.

But we’re barreling towards a reality in which only the elite have a say,
elections are bought by dark money, and Congress is decided by gerrymandered
districts instead of competitive elections.

Whether you support the bill or not, the American people deserve a debate and
a vote.

Please protect our democracy by bringing the Freedom to Vote Act to the
Senate floor.
