For daring to stand up to Alabama’s morally horrific plan to use COVID-19 relief money to expand their failed prison system, I’m being attacked by their extreme Trump-loving governor.

Severe staff shortages in their prisons have led to a culture of violence and extortion -- and a murder rate 10 times the national average.

With a large percentage of inmates locked up for non-violent offenses such as marijuana possession, this state of affairs is particularly inhumane.
