[1]Cori Bush

John,

We want to be candid with you about one of the threats Cori is currently
facing: an extremely competitive — and expensive — re-election race.

A Democratic challenger just announced a run against one of Cori's allies
in Congress — and last cycle, shady corporate donors and super PACs spent
tens of millions trying to defeat progressive members including
Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.

Our race was decided by just three points in 2020, so we're not taking
anything for granted. Fox News and the far-right have already made us a
top target of their attacks, and folks are all but guaranteed to come out
of the woodwork to try and take this seat.

Cori is leading a people-powered movement to transform our politics, and
we want her to stay focused on legislating — not campaigning. That's where
you come in, John:

We're currently falling short of where we should be to reach our October
goal, and we need your help to raise $15,000 before midnight tonight to
close the gap. [ [link removed] ]Please, will you chip in $5 or more
before tonight's mid-month deadline to re-elect the first activist from
the movement in defense of Black lives to Congress?

[ [link removed] ]Contribute $5

To be honest, Cori's re-election is about more than just Missouri's First
District — it's about who holds power in Congress. As we've seen in recent
weeks, it's House progressives who are using their power to pass President
Biden's agenda.

When conservative Democrats wanted to move ahead with only the
infrastructure bill, progressives held the line and ensured the critical
Build Back Better Act will also have a vote.

From introducing the People's Response Act to leading the movement to keep
people housed, Cori has accomplished a lot in her first year in office.
But our work's not over yet. If we're going to abolish the filibuster and
make progress on voting rights, civil rights, health care, the climate,
and more, we MUST keep Cori in Congress.

John, our
mid-month deadline is coming up tonight at midnight, so we must ask:
[ [link removed] ]Will you contribute $5, or whatever is meaningful to
you, to help hit our critical $15,000 goal and make sure Cori has the
resources to continue organizing and legislating for bold, anti-racist,
progressive change in Congress?

Together,

Team Cori
