John,
This pandemic has made it clear: Care is universal.
Right now, Congress has a historic, one-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in care workers — most of whom are women of color and immigrant women — by delivering a reconciliation package with a total $400 billion investment in home and community-based services (HCBS).
This economic transformation will raise wages and economic security for workers; make home care jobs good jobs with dignity and good benefits; and positively impact our economic recovery by allowing workers to participate in the economy, which will create an estimated 1.1 million new jobs each year over the next decade.
The need for care is universal, and the key to make it a reality for all is a total investment of $400 billion in HCBS and care infrastructure. Investing in HCBS will benefit us all — that’s why Rep. Nikema Williams and Care in Action are demanding that Congress include a historic and transformational investment of $400 billion in HCBS as part of the Build Back Better agenda.
Join LeftNet, Rep. Nikema Williams and Care in Action to tell Congress: Investing in home and community-based services will benefit us all — and it’s what the American people want.
