New campaign finance filings just came out, and we’ll be honest — it’s not looking good. The RSLC, the Republican committee funding state legislative campaigns — including ones right here in Virginia — have outraised their Democratic counterparts to the tune of 3 million dollars.

This could have huge ramifications here in Virginia, where our 5 seat majority in the House of Delegates is on the line. If the Republicans take back the House, all the progress we’ve have made on the abortion rights, LGBTQ+ protections, climate change, criminal justice reform, and gun control will all be rolled back.

Make no mistake, this election is going to come down to a handful of votes and the Republican ticket will do whatever it needs to in order to sway undecided voters — from spouting Trumpian talking points like calling for audits of the voting machines to lying to voters about their real radical agenda. Virginia needs to keep moving forward, not head back to the stone ages.
