In case you missed it, we have two new competitors in the Republican primary to take over Michael’s seat — and they both could use their personal wealth to fund their campaigns.

The first, is a wealthy Trump appointee who opposes the expanded Child Tax Credit, which has kept more than 3 million kids out of poverty with the first payment alone. He threatens the progress Michael and Democrats have made on cutting child poverty and providing relief to help Americans recover from the pandemic.

The second is so wealthy that he already self-funded a quarter million dollars, has a war chest of half a million dollars, and hired top Trump consultants to run his campaign. He jumped into the race with a landmark six-figure advertising buy, running ads attacking Michael, so he’s a serious threat.

Both of these men have Trump ties, are potentially mega-wealthy, and out-of-touch with reality. These are the kinds of candidates Mitch McConnell wants to see sitting in the United States Senate. With the National GOP poised to back one of these candidates with some of the $25 million they raised last quarter, your support is critical.
