The nation is at a critical turning point, and the clock is ticking.
The climate crisis is already at our doorstep, and if we don't act now, it will cause irreparable damage. Our infrastructure is outdated and crumbling. Parents are struggling to afford child care and put food on the table.
Democrats are working to advance historic investments in good-paying jobs to rebuild our roads and bridges, support working families, cut health care costs, and much more. Not to mention re-establishing America as a climate leader by investing in clean energy and reducing emissions.
House Republicans care about precisely none of these priorities.
John, you know as well as I do that what happens in the House matters. Legislation passed by Congress will impact our lives and shape the future of our country.
But the truth is, the House GOP has no interest in passing anything meaningful for families and working people. They don't care about combating climate change, providing affordable health care and paid family leave, expanding broadband connectivity, or anything else that might actually help folks.
The Democratic majority in the House, however, has already moved mountains, John. They've passed legislation to get dark money out of politics, end gerrymandering, expand voting rights, address climate change, and protect access to reproductive care, just to name a few.
But John, our Democratic House majority is holding on by just four seats.
