When it comes to protecting Arizona's future, there's almost no other issue that is more pressing than water.
This year was one of the driest years on record in Arizona. The science is clear: our future will be hotter and drier, so we need to take action to prepare now. That's why I've been fighting nonstop to secure common-sense investments in water infrastructure and security for Arizona.
We've made some great steps. At the end of 2020, I was able to secure $150 million in the Water Resources Development Act for an Arizona-centered environmental infrastructure program. This funding gives local governments crucial support to pursue smart water projects.
In 2021, I've secured $50 million for Lake Mead water conservation efforts, and another $1.8 million for the Tres Rios project, which will help restore ecosystems along the Salt and Gila rivers — something I've been fighting for since I was mayor of Phoenix.
When you live in a desert state, you can't risk your water supply. That's why I'm committed to fighting for more smart investments like these.
Help me stand up for Arizona's water supply in Congress by chipping in now >>
