Friend, I want to tell you a story about one of my campaign’s earliest supporters, who *spoiler alert* ended up becoming my husband. But first, we’re coming up on our mid-month deadline at midnight tonight and we need to raise $5,847 to stay on track for the month.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, here’s the story that changed my life -- and believe it or not, it has to do with fundraising! When I decided to run for Congress, I knew it was going to require my all and then some.
But after two weeks of being hung up on, I was starting to wonder if I was cut out for this. Then, the name of a donor popped out at me on the call sheet. I recognized it immediately -- it was Rob from high school.
I did what I do with any supporter and I called to thank him and invited him to a campaign event; he couldn’t make it, but he promised to support my campaign again -- and he did.
After that phone call, we became closer. At the time I wasn’t even looking to meet somebody, I was too occupied with my work. But Rob became the exception and managed to make my worlds collide.
Rob believed in me before I was even elected and donated to my campaign as an early investor. Today, I am humbly asking if you will do the same and donate $25 or more to help us reach our mid-month fundraising goal.
Early investments are critical to helping candidates win. Without early support from people like Rob in 2017, I might not have even won in 2018!
Republicans do not slow down or play games when it comes to partisan politics. They are willing to do whatever it takes to win back a House majority, and with only five seats up for grabs, they have their sights set on mine.
Friend, while I can’t guarantee that you’ll fall in love through campaign fundraising like I did, it would mean a lot to me if you could pitch in $5, $10, or whatever you can to help us close the gap on our mid-month goal.
Thanks for reading and chipping in, if you can. Your support means the world to me.
