I’m writing today to ask for your financial support.
You see, I’ve come to realize in my 16 months serving here ... that People For the American Way really is a special type of organization. Hear me out on this one:
- The fundamental American right to vote is a non-negotiable principle for us. That’s why I was arrested at the White House last week demanding that President Biden lead his party and call on the Senate to abolish the filibuster and pass the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.
- We recognize the grave threat posed by far-right extremists in America today. So we’re fighting back by exposing -- and disrupting -- their deep influence on right-wing candidates and elected officials.
- We understand that elections matter. Which is why we’re investing heavily to help Democrats win in just a few weeks here in the critical bellwether state of Virginia, with radio ads and other outreach to demographic groups that tend to vote infrequently.
- We know the importance of having fair and independent judges on our courts, who are ready to defend liberty and justice for all -– not just the interests of corporations and the wealthy.
Unfortunately, there's no way any of this can happen without your financial support. People For is funded in large part by grassroots donations from regular Americans like you ... which is why we’re asking you to chip in a contribution today.

You’ve probably realized that the threats from the Far Right are SO severe now that we need to be fighting, organizing, and protecting our democracy every day -- not just voting in elections every four years.
With your contributions, that’s exactly what People For will keep doing.
We’re planning to keep up our civil disobedience at the White House until voting rights legislation is pushed through the Senate, no matter what, and signed into law by President Biden.
We’ll keep breaking stories about far-right extremists and their connections to Republican candidates, such as Glenn Youngkin’s recent appearances with some of the most extreme groups America has ever known.
We’ll step up our efforts in Virginia to hold this crucial state for the Democrats in November, and ramp up our electoral program leading into the 2022 midterms next year.
We’ll continue fighting for confirmation of President Biden’s judicial nominees, to start rebalancing our courts and restoring fairness to our American judicial system.
