Hey John — we’re approaching the mid-point of October and to be honest with you, we’re pacing behind where we’d planned to be by this point.

As a longtime Finance Director, I’m regrettably aware that the month directly following an FEC filing deadline can be notoriously slow for campaign fundraising.

Our campaign is no exception and grassroots donor energy has taken a significant dip this October. The problem is, Barbara has been focused on her job in Washington — dealing with tough budget negotiations as progressives held the line on the key policy priorities for working families included in President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda.

Let me be clear: Falling short is not the end of the world for us. But to make sure we don’t fall too far behind, I’m hoping to raise an additional $2,500 today to get us back on track.
