Jack, following the murder of George Floyd last summer, Minneapolis sparked a global uprising against state-sanctioned violence. Since then, one thing has become increasingly clear: Minneapolis is ready for a new approach to public safety.
Public safety is on the ballot in Minneapolis this November, and it’s called Question 2. Question 2 would expand public safety for Minneapolis, ensuring trained health and safety professionals like mental health professionals, social workers, and violence interrupters respond to community needs and work alongside the police. A win for public safety in Minneapolis would save lives and show localities across America that comprehensive public safety measures are achievable.
Chip in to help spread the word about expanding public safety and making Minneapolis a city where everyone can feel safe.
However, Despite overwhelming community support, the Police Federation and their allies are powerful and well-funded, and they continue to push lies about Question 2. We need to ensure that every voter in Minneapolis knows to vote Yes on Question 2.
The Yes 4 Minneapolis campaign is about safety and democracy. A few very powerful, well-connected people have tried to keep Question 2 off the ballot in Minneapolis. They failed. The individuals who tried to rid the ballot of the public safety measures voters want are powerful, but not as powerful as the people.
We need to ensure that Minneapolis voters know they are not alone in the struggle to bring public safety to our communities, and that support and solidarity are pouring in from every corner of this country.
If you marched against racism and state-sanctioned violence, now is your opportunity to support a winning campaign working to bring public safety to Minneapolis. Donate here to support the Yes 4 Minneapolis campaign, and ensure every voter in Minneapolis knows to vote Yes on question 2.
