Here’s something that shouldn’t be controversial: We cannot let the filibuster stand in our way of protecting the right to vote and defending reproductive rights.

For far too long, Republicans have abused the power of the filibuster to block major reforms. It’s time to get rid of the filibuster, but if it came up for a vote tomorrow, it would fail.

But the longer Senate Republicans delay ending the filibuster, the more time Mitch McConnell has to stall common-sense voting reforms, climate action, and more.

Our Democratic majority in the House and Senate is razor-thin. In order to keep making progress, we need to expand our party’s majority in both chambers of Congress to get rid of the filibuster.
