This past Tuesday, as I was in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium for our
Backstage Live event, scores of furious parents in Virginia were descending on
the Loudoun County School Board meeting to demand the resignation of the
district’s superintendent. They were reacting to a shocking new report from The
Daily Wire’s investigative reporter Luke Rosiak exposing the district’s denial
of the alleged rape of a young girl by a male student wearing a skirt who
entered the girl’s bathroom. 

 

You’ve probably seen footage of the girl’s father, Scott Smith, being arrested
at a school board meeting back in June. He attended that meeting to demand
accountability and to speak out against the school’s policy allowing students
to use any bathroom they wish, based on their “gender identity.” But before
Smith could speak, the superintendent spoke up to lecture the public that their
concerns about the transgender policy were misplaced, claiming that no sexual
assaults had taken place in any school bathrooms. 

 

Smith was livid that they were publicly denying that his daughter’s assault
even took place. To make matters worse, a leftwing activist approached Smith
and his wife, allegedly saying that she didn’t believe their daughter. A heated
verbal argument ensued, and before he knew it, Smith was being tackled to the
ground by the police. The video of his arrest quickly went viral, and Smith
became the poster child for what the National School Boards Association has
labeled “domestic terrorism.”

 

All he wanted to do was fight for his daughter, and he ended up Public Enemy
#1, his face plastered all over the media. The Left held him up as proof that
protests at school board meetings needed to be reined in using the weight of
the federal government.

That would have remained the narrative, if not for the investigative reporting

Our investigation showed that Smith was not a “domestic terrorist,” but a
father intent on holding the school board accountable for the policies that led
to the violent assault of his daughter. Dozens of national and international

rallying to demand accountability, and I won’t be surprised if conservatives
make a huge comeback in Loudoun County’s upcoming school board elections.
