No one's denying that Trump won Texas in the 2020 presidential election. So why is he threatening the Republican speaker with political consequences if he doesn't "audit" the 2020 results?
Here's the answer: He's trashing our democracy for the sake of his own ego.

Jack xxxxxx,
Former President Trump threatened Republican Texas Speaker of the House Dad Phelan this weekend with consequences if a bill calling for more audits of the 2020 election doesn’t come up for a vote soon.
You read that right: Even though Trump won Texas by six points in 2020, he’s still calling for more election audits to “prove” he won by even more.
These election audits have become a Republican purity test -- and they’re deeply undemocratic. Still, Trump said if the bill doesn’t pass, he would “look forward to seeing [Phelan] in the Texas primary.”
Until Republicans are punished for driving our democracy off a cliff, they’re going to keep doing it. They’re not being held accountable, so we need to step in. Will you join us?
Thank you,
