There is no question that our political landscape is changing, and because of it, we cannot afford to take anything for granted anymore.

Due to redistricting, voter suppression and shifting national political dynamics, we just can’t count on any seats being “safe” anymore. 

As an example, look no further than the recall efforts in California last month.  Initially, no one thought Republicans could put up a real fight in such a strong Democratic state, but in the end Democrats had to spend millions to defend Governor Newsom’s seat.

Our next race is quickly approaching and we can’t be caught off-guard.  We must look ahead now and be prepared for anything, because, as we’ve learned from the recall, any incumbent can be challenged by well-funded right wing interests.

As we work to meet our mid-month fundraising goal, I want to ask you personally to help us prepare for our next race.  Will you chip in at [link removed] today?

We know that Republicans are tired of being in the minority, and that they will spend hundreds of millions of dollars next year to take back the House.  There is just too much at stake for complacency and to be caught unaware when outside money begins pouring into our district.  That is why we must prepare now.
