Child Abuse By Another Name

James Younger, a seven-year-old boy, has become a court mandated
girl

[link removed]

.

In none other than Dallas, Texas, 11 jurors awarded sole custody of
James Younger and his twin, Jude, to their mother, who insists against
all evidence to the contrary, that James is really a girl. Though the
jury's decision was then walked back by the presiding
judge to allow both parents a say in medical decision-making, it was
still a stunning revelation that a jury could come to a near-unanimous
decision that it is in a child's best interests to be raised as
if he were the opposite sex. The case also uncovers one of the more
chilling aspects of "gender": If someone can choose to be
something other than their sex, then what's to stop

someone else from choosing for you? In a video posted online, a
three-year-old James Younger is asked by his father, "Who told
you you're a girl?" to which James answers,
"Mommy."

What's in Decline: Christianity, or a Parody of It?

Illuminated-Cross.png

For the past ten years, Pew Research Center has been observing the
decline in religion in the US. Last week they released their findings
under the headline, "In the U.S., Declines of Christianity
Continues at a Rapid Pace." Pew found that the number of
Christians in the U.S. had dropped by 12% in the past decade, while
the religiously unaffiliated share of the population increased by
17%.

Pew is right in noting that this is a significant decline to have
taken place in only ten years, and an understanding and awareness of
this trend matters. The declining number of people identifying as
Christians has  implications for believers. However, as we think
about these numbers, we must never lose sight of the fact that the
power of the gospel is not dependent on cultural trends. Pew's
findings are an urgent reminder that the people around us are lost and
hurting, and this should motivate us to act with urgency, compassion,
and concern.
