DAILY ALERT FOR Friday, October 25, 2019 |
|
| | The Illinois General Assembly will reconvene for a Veto Session on October 28th and gun control legislation may move quickly. Anti-gun legislators are not giving up in their attempt to pass Senate Bill 1966 to criminalize private firearm transfers and unnecessarily increase the cost and red tape for a FOID. SB 1966 previously passed the House, so it is critical that the Senate votes it down in this Veto Session. |
| | On Monday, October 28, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives is scheduled to consider pro-hunting legislation, Senate Bill 147. |
| | On October 30th, the New Hampshire state House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee will hold the final executive session on the carry-over House Bill 687, which would allow Second Amendment rights to be suspended and firearms seized without due process. |
| | On October 18th, law-abiding gun owners won a major victory when the Washington Superior Court granted a motion for summary judgment against the City of Edmonds for violating the state’s preemption statute. This win invalidates the mandatory firearm storage ordinance passed by the City Council, and constitutes a victory for freedom and the Second Amendment. |
