As I mentioned to you yesterday, an Obama-appointed federal judge ruled to temporarily block the enforcement of Senate Bill 8 — the Heartbeat Act — Texas’ lifesaving legislation that ensures once a fetal heartbeat is detected, the baby’s life must be protected.
Late Friday night, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled to restore our law to ensure Texas continues to have the nation’s strongest protections for the unborn. This decision is a huge victory and will save thousands of little Texans’ lives!
Since the Heartbeat Bill took effect last month, around 150 babies a day have been saved. Though this is great news to be celebrated, the Left has been relentless in their attempts to stop us from protecting these innocent lives.
What started in Texas is quickly rippling across the nation — sparking a pro-life movement the likes of which we have never seen before. Other states have taken notice of our law and have started drafting legislation to model it.
Sadly, abortion providers will keep filing lawsuits and challenging those who fought to protect life here in Texas. They want to rollback our laws because they want abortion to be more and more available.
We will continue fighting for the rights of every unborn child. We will not back down. The right to life and liberty will always be protected in Texas.
I will never stop fighting to protect our state’s most vulnerable. May I count on your support of $5-10-25 or more today to continue fighting to protect the lives of little Texans?
Your support will help our campaign champion conservative ideas across Texas. Because when the conservatives win, Texas wins.
May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
