Dear John,

Ballots are starting to arrive in your mailbox this week! If you haven’t already, all registered voters in Utah will be receiving a mail-in ballot within the next few days, so be on the lookout and make sure you fill it out and return it ASAP!

Municipalities are driving the clean energy transition here in Utah, making mayors and city council members the force behind cleaning our air, reducing emissions and protecting the climate. But here’s the thing—Utahns don’t show up in municipal elections.

According to a report from the New York Times, less than 30% of registered voters cast a ballot in their municipal races. This means when you cast a vote in your municipal election, you have an outsized impact on the direction your city takes in combating bad air and climate change!

We’ve created an easy way for you to check your voter registration status, see where your closest polling place or ballot drop box is located, and track your ballot to ensure it was counted. Check out the o2 Utah Election Center.

YOU have the power to drive change in our state! By electing leaders who will run on a climate platform, you have a direct impact on the quality of our state’s air.

Make your voice heard, and be the driver of positive change for our air. Fill out and return your ballot ASAP!

Sincerely,

Marcus Stevenson

Political Director
