In the race are Republicans like J.D. Vance , an elite venture capitalist and a Fox News favorite who’s running a campaign founded on “bigotry and hatred.” There’s Josh Mandel , an ex-state treasurer who used taxpayer dollars to promote his own campaign. Jane Timken is the former head of the Ohio GOP who has “the closest Ties to Trump.” And Mike Gibbons and Bernie Moreno have vast personal wealth they can draw from to fuel their campaigns.

And they’re all desperately trying to win Trump’s endorsement by pledging their allegiance to him and perpetuating his lies of 2020 election fraud.

Recent polls show this race is a dead heat and far-right candidates are doing everything they can to boost voter enthusiasm during their primaries. That means we need to work twice as hard to support candidates on the ballot who will honor the Dignity of Work and our democratic values in office.
