About two weeks ago, I signed legislation that would permanently require a vote-by-mail ballot be sent to every registered voter in the state of California in subsequent elections.
While Republicans across the country enact undemocratic voter suppression laws, California will increase voter access, options and bolster election integrity and transparency.
We started doing this during the pandemic and now we’re going to make it permanent – because in a vibrant, functioning democracy we should be making it easier for everyone to vote, not more difficult.
