Dear John,
I’m one month into my role as President & CEO of Verified Voting, and I want to share what I’ve heard from supporters like you, especially the feedback I received from last month’s survey.

Like me, you have a lot on your minds about the state of our democracy. You want to see our elections become more resilient and secure by eliminating insecure voting systems and pushing back against calls for internet voting. You’re concerned about threats against election workers in your communities – many of whom are your neighbors and friends.

You’ve seen the sham reviews happening in states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and more, and you worry that these partisan moves and the proliferation of disinformation are doing real damage to trust in our elections. But you also shared a path forward – a path that we’re already on, thanks to supporters like you.
I’m aligned with you on our organization’s biggest opportunities, which will help inform the next chapter of Verified Voting. Your responses included expanding risk-limiting audits, continuing to phase out paperless voting systems, growing our data and resources, increasing the capacity of our experts in election integrity, maintaining our nonpartisan lens through a volatile political climate, and ensuring that voting is both secure and available to all voters.
In the survey, I asked if you had any questions for me. A supporter asked, “What’s your plan?” Our talented team is already working to expand our education and outreach, guiding officials on scientifically sound best practices that shore up confidence in our elections, and building new relationships as a trusted nonpartisan resource for everyone – especially voters.
I’ll have more to report soon on our plans for 2022 and beyond – but in the interim, I want to acknowledge those of you who simply urged us to “stay strong.” Your support keeps us going – and I hope you’ll consider a contribution as we work to ensure our elections are free, fair, and secure.
With thanks,
Sangita Sigdyal, President & CEO
