This week’s Race + Power newsletter offers you a first glimpse into our upcoming Fall magazine, which focuses on climate justice. The first piece is an animation of a poem by Dr. Dorceta Taylor, a leading figure in the climate justice movement who’s been at the forefront of highlighting the racial equity issues in environmental nonprofits. There is also an article by Cyndi Suarez, which opens up the magazine by exploring how social movements are setting the frame for climate justice. Finally, we offer two pieces from our archives: one covering a report by Dr. Taylor on racial equity in environmental nonprofits, and one by Deeohn Ferris, another leader in climate justice who collaborates with Dr. Taylor to bring attention to the need for change.
