Hi —

Pennsylvania received $7.3 billion in COVID-19 relief funds. It’s the kind of opportunity that could change the lives of children across the state. But instead of helping people in need and investing in our state, lawmakers have only put a fraction of those funds to use.

We can’t let another year go by without action. That’s why we’re pushing hard for environmental justice for Black and Brown communities, local projects that will protect our roads and homes against extreme weather, upkeep in our parks and on trails that are seeing quadruple the use, support for farmers, and investments to clean up tens of thousands of miles of polluted streams.

Our allies held hundreds of meetings with lawmakers last week advocating for these priorities, and we can keep that momentum building if thousands of PA residents email these same lawmakers today.
Friend, help us make sure all 50 members of the state Senate hear from their constituents today. Please send a message supporting transformational investments in our air, water, and public lands [[link removed]]

For years, Pennsylvania has green-lighted major polluting facilities, and has neglected our streams and rivers, our parks, and the systems that cause flooding — and now we’re facing a crisis. Flooding from Hurricane Ida destroyed hundreds of homes and damaged a water treatment plant, impacting water for thousands of people. If we don’t adapt, insurance rates and taxes will keep going up as storms like this happen more often.

The American Rescue Plan is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to finally invest in our communities, restore polluted creeks and streams, and maintain our parks — but only if state lawmakers release the funds.

We’re mobilizing now to tell state lawmakers that we expect action. Help us build on the hundreds of meetings we held with our allies by sending in your message today [[link removed]]
