I want to re-introduce myself. I’m Shawn Collins – I’m a black conservative,
a U.S. Navy combat veteran who served in Afghanistan, an active U.S. Navy
reservist, a husband, and a father.

I’m running for Congress in California’s 45th District – a seat that was
represented by Republicans for decades until Democrat Katie Porter flipped it
in the 2016 “Blue Wave”.

This seat is one of the best chances we have to flip a seat back to
Republican in 2022,and I’m going to need your help to do it.

But let me tell you why I’m running. We need new leadership in America.

I grew up in a disadvantaged home in a poor suburb of Dallas. My parents
divorced when I was three years old. I had every reason to be convinced that I
could not change my circumstances.

But fortunately for me, the American Dream was alive and strong.

My parents both taught me about hard work, accountability, and resiliency.
Those traits combined with my love of basketball lead me to attend Rice
University, where I played Division 1 basketball.

After law school, when I was admitted to the bar, I took an oath to support
the Constitution.But eventually I realized that was not enough for me – so I
made the decision to fight for the Constitution I swore to defend and joined
the U.S. Navy.

Shortly after my wife Zeina – who is an immigrant – and I were married, I
deployed on a combat mission to Afghanistan. While in Afghanistan, I helped
negotiate with key leaders in the regionand even survived two
assassination-attempt bombings.

Now, as father of four who has lived the American Dream and fought for my
country so others could achieve it as well, I am greatly disturbed by the lack
of leadership in America.

I’m running for Congress to help give our country the leadership we so badly
need in order to keep America a safe, secure and prosperous nation full of
opportunity.

On Biden’s watch, we have had a disastrous and dishonorable withdrawal from
Afghanistan that undid everything I fought for, and thousands died for, over
the last twenty years.

Democrats are spending trillions of dollars we don’t have on pet projects we
can’t afford which is driving up debt and inflation and hurting our economy.

Since Democrats took over, nothing has gotten better – in fact, it’s getting
worse. No one – not Biden, not Katie Porter – is providing America with the
leadership we need.

We must be spending wisely and lowering (not raising) taxes, especially in
this difficult economic climate.

We must be supporting our military AND our law enforcement as they work to
protect us.

We must improve our education system, put more emphasis on STEM fields, and
secure a brighter future for our children.

We must address the national security and humanitarian crisis at the border
by securing it and streamlining the legal immigration process so more people
like my wife can have the opportunity to come to our country legally and
achieve the American Dream.

We can do all these things and more, but only if we have new leadership in
America.

I’m running for Congress, and I need support from patriots like you to not
only flip this target seat in CA-45, but ensure we have a new conservative
