Generation Progress

Dear John,

Between uncontrollable wildfires, extreme heat, destructive hurricanes, and more, we are currently experiencing the devastating impacts of the climate crisis firsthand. Homes are being damaged and destroyed, livelihoods are being threatened, and parts of the United States are becoming uninhabitable. In fact, a recent analysis found that this summer, nearly 1 in 3 Americans experienced a natural disaster. (1)

Climate change is real and it’s happening now, and our generations are the ones who will be impacted the most. Are you worried about how the climate crisis is impacting your community? Have you noticed the days getting hotter where you live? Have you had to evacuate your home with short notice because of wildfires? (2) Have hurricanes, flooding, or sea level rise and climate gentrification displaced you and your family? (3)

Your story is important, and we want to hear it. Stories like yours can help others see how the climate crisis has real-world impacts on people like you and me.

Share your story, and when you’re done, tell five friends to do the same.

In solidarity,

Lotanna Obodozie
