It takes a lot to be a Renewer. Courage, honesty, and a deep commitment to core American values to start. It shouldn't be too much to ask our elected leaders to meet that threshold, and yet those qualities are hard to find in Congress.

Today, the Renew America Movement announced our first slate of Renewers — Republicans, Democrats, and Independents running for Congress in 2022 who deserve our support.

These 21 candidates have proven that they will stand up for our democracy, and stand athwart the march of extremism in our politics. Some of them have come under fire from their own party or gained extreme primary challengers for their principled stands. One even lost her leadership position for deciding to defend democracy. Each of them has walked the treacherous path of integrity, and refused to cave in to the partisan demands of extremism.

MEET THE RENEWERS

These candidates for office form a principled core for our cross partisan movement. They may not agree on many political issues, but when it comes to the continuance of America liberty and democracy, they stand united. We should stand together, regardless of our own party or policy preferences, to build upon this foundation of unifying leaders in Congress. 

Together we are the difference makers. We are the political power that can keep extremists out of government and build a coalition of Renewers ready to tackle America’s challenges and shore up our institutions.
