Far right extremists are using social media to recruit servicemembers and veterans to their ranks. They’ve filled Facebook and Twitter feeds with conspiracy theories and insurrectionist nonsense for years -- and the effects are undeniable.

But VoteVets is fighting back:

The truth is, an unfortunate number of the rioters at the Capitol on January 6th were currently serving in the military or veterans. An Air Force veteran was shot and killed at the Capitol after having been sucked in by these conspiracy theories.

But VoteVets is ready to take on this challenge. In fact, we launched a program allowing us to have one on one conversations with veterans through Facebook messenger. We are confronting disinformation on its most fertile ground: Social media.
