For nearly a year, Donald Trump and Pennsylvania Republicans have done everything in their power to push the Big Lie and roll back the right to vote. As your Attorney General, I’ve stood up for Pennsylvanians and fought back time and time again.

Our Commonwealth deserves a leader who works for them — who will fight back against GOP attacks on our rights and our democracy. We need to make sure this razor-thin swing state stays blue in the next election.

I’m ready for that fight, so I have some news to share:

Today, I’m announcing that I’m running to become Pennsylvania’s next Governor.

Each of us has a responsibility in life to get off the sidelines and get in the game. To do our part to make things better — or as my faith teaches me: “No one is required to complete the task, but neither are we free to refrain from it.”

I share that lesson often — whether I’m at a synagogue, a Baptist church, or any place people gather.

It’s truer now than ever before. Pennsylvanians are facing unprecedented challenges — the COVID-19 pandemic, a Legislature that puts lobbyists and special interests ahead of people, an assault on our democracy and reproductive rights — and Pennsylvanians need a Governor who will take on the big fights and be on their side.

Already, there are Republican candidates for Governor who want to lead us down a dark road. They’re actively trying to undermine our elections, to strip away our voting rights, and take away the right to have an abortion once and for all.

They’re trying to divide us, and we can’t let them.

I’ve spent my life taking on the big and powerful on behalf of those who’ve been wronged — like firing the Wall Street money managers to save taxpayers and retirees millions of dollars a year in Montgomery County and taking on the Catholic Church to give survivors a voice after decades of sexual abuse and cover ups.

I’m running to be Pennsylvania’s next Governor to keep taking on those big fights. But John, I need you with me now more than ever.
