‘Major’ Oil Spill Off California Coast Threatens Wetlands and Wildlife
-New York Times
Team,
Last week, our environment was hit hard. A massive oil spill off the coast of Orange County, just north of my district in San Diego, left wildlife dead and our waters polluted with an oil slick that covers 13 square miles.
This is just one of many major oil spills we’ve suffered, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight — unless we commit to a major overhaul of our energy system. That’s why I’m proud to be an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal.
The stakes are clear: we need to make the switch to renewable energy, and time is running out. We need bold leaders who aren’t afraid to stand up to fossil fuel giants and advocate for a livable planet for future generations.
Will you chip in to my re-election campaign today to keep a strong climate change advocate in Congress?
