Dear John,

The evangelical ministry of African Enterprise celebrates its 60th anniversary next year. It all started with Michael Cassidy, 24 years old at the time and a longing to take the news of Jesus Christ through word and deed, in partnership with the church to the whole of Africa. It was that day on a beach that he made 50 footprints in the sand and claimed Africa for Him.

Launched in 1962 at Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, the success of AE’s first mission led to the genesis of a unique evangelical movement to evangelise the cities of Africa in word and deed in partnership with the church. Over these years, millions have come to know Jesus through the coordinated efforts of AE leaders to engage thousands of people and hundreds of churches to share the gospel through AE’s unique ‘stratified evangelism’ model, and to unite evangelical leaders in Africa and across the world in leadership assemblies and peacemaking initiatives.

The most recent Zomba mission in Malawi is a good example of the unique ministry that continues today, mobilising hundreds of volunteers to make a statement for Christ by cleaning the streets, then engaged in leadership meetings across the city to bring 388 professionals and government leaders and 906 high school students into a relationship with Christ.

One of the new converts, a health worker from Zomba Central Hospital explained how impactful the mission event was to her, which she has marked as a turning point for her life. Read her full testimony here. <[link removed]>

Please let’s pray together for the upcoming missions in DRC and Ethiopia and missions recently completed.

*
For the preparation of all mission volunteers to boldly and effectively proclaim the word of God
*
For those who God has prepared in advance to receive the good news, and that the seed of truth will be planted in good soil
*
For the effective partnership of all churches, and that God would overcome all the logistical hurdles and provide good transport, communications, healthy food, safe accommodation and all the tracts and decision-making cards and processes required for witness and follow-up
*
For the personal health and safety of all those involved, especially during this time of covid.
*
For the effective discipleship of all new believers, and that they would turn their full attention to learning about pleasing God.

God Bless,

Ben Campbell
