Dear Friend,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health and spirits. As you know, Human, Gun, and Tobacco Trafficking is an issue my office has been currently addressing through legislative efforts. According to the research, there were 454 Human trafficking cases in New York State, the majority of which were in the City of New York. Tobacco smuggling accounts for over a billion dollars in lost revenue, and gun trafficking through the Iron Pipeline (I-95) has seen 50,000 guns transported across state lines. The Iron pipeline accounts for 86% of guns found in New York. With these issues in mind, I have decided to address these issues within the virtual town hall, head-on.
On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 6:00-7:30 PM, I will be hosting a conversation on Human, Guns, and Tobacco trafficking. Our special guests will be Rob Wilcox from Everytown USA, Professor & Former ATF Deputy Director Richard W. Marianos, Brandi Bynum DHS Blue Campaign, and Allison Grossman Director of Public Policy & Strategic Advocacy Polaris. Please join us in this needed informational session to unpack these various elements of trafficking.
